Perry County is one of the most beautifull places on this Earth to me. With its mountains, hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and streams. It is a rural county with Rice Soy Bean Sod Farms and large cattle ranches with vast pasture lands nestled at the foot of the Washata Mountan range and along Foursh LaFave and the Arkansas Rivers. It is just west of Pulaski County which is in the center of Arkansas, and the capitol city of Little Rock is in Pulaski.

My great grandparents Elijah and Nancy Ann Yielding came to this county with the logging industry before 1906 from Alabama. In 1910 they were in the Hollis area.My Edmondson great grandparents also came to Perry county about the same time as did my Parks familys. They settled in the Oakgrove comunity where Nancy Ann died and is buried in Oakgrove Cemetery. Dates will have to come later when I find my information.

Perryville is the county seat with its old court house on the Square. 1
