Sectional
I never could find much on the internet on the sectional to post. The Squires won the first game and then lost the second one. Their season is done, but they had a good winning season.

WABASH, Ind. — Hoosier Hysteria, a la class basketball, is about to get
underway as Indiana's girls get things going with the drawing of sectional
pairings Monday in four different classes.
Six local teams — including all four from Wabash County — will converge
at Northfield High School for the first round of Class 2A Sectional 37 games
set to start at 6 p.m. next Tuesday.
In that first game, Southwood (5-12) will face Maconaquah (8-10) while at
7:30 p.m., defending champion Manchester (11-8) hooks up with Wabash
(1-16).
The second round will be played Feb. 18 with Northfield (9-10) facing
North Miami (8-11) at 6 p.m. and the winners from Tuesday squaring off at
7:30. The sectional tournament culminates with the championship game at
7:30 p.m. Feb. 20.
Unlike last year when the Lady Squires entered the tourney ranked No.9 in
the state at 16-3, no one is claiming an advantage this year, as none of the
possible contenders have a clear-cut advantage.
"Every coach ought to be optimistic," Southwood coach Rod Cole said.
"There's no one dominant team in it this year."
Although Manchester has the best record at the moment, they have struggled
at times against other Sectional 37 teams, losing to Maconaquah earlier in
the season and to Northfield Jan. 16.
"It's definitely wide open," Keri Nichols, first-year coach of the Lady
Squires said. "All of the teams have been competitive when they've played
each other.
"I think they all can compete; it may come down to who will play the better
defense that will win."
For the Lady Apaches, it will be a repeat of last year when they drew a
first-round assignment against Manchester.
"I told the girls about it and they handled it the right way," coach Larry
Vaughn said. "We are looking at it as an opportunity.
"They (Manchester) are an awfully good team.
Cole says Northfield may have an edge because of the home-court
advantage and that "they are definitely capable."
Steve Desper of Northfield echoed Nichols' sentiments about the parity of
this year's field. His Lady Norse have beaten everyone in the sectional at
least once except North Miami, where they lost 54-46 Dec. 18.
"The teams are so even," Desper said. "We feel like we have a good chance,
but we have to play really well."
The Lady Warriors are coached by Jody Shewman, who last year took
Manchester to the finals of the semistate at Logansport before losing to
Bluffton.
The Lady Squires also defeated Lewis Cass, site of this year's two-game,
two-class regional, in last year's Maconaquah regional. The other game at
Cass this time around will feature the North White-Clinton Central winners
in Class A.
This year's Class 2A semistate has been shifted to Maconaquah March 6
where the Cass winner faces the Knox winner in one first-round game and
the Hamilton Heights winner faces the East Noble winner in the other.
The two first-round winners meet in the evening to decide who moves on to
Market Square Arena March 13 to face the Paoli semistate winner in the
second game of the morning session.
