Clyde E. Alcorn, 71, of Oliver Springs died
Friday, Feb. 9,1996, in Harriman City Hospital following a long illness.
Alcorn was a lifelong
resident of Oliver Springs and a member of the Big Emory Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World Was I I. He worked as a security guard and was retired from Union Carbide after
24 years of service.
Alcorn was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Frank Alcorn
and Katherine Rickett Alcorn; two brothers, Troy and Earl Alcorn; and a sister, Dorothy
Alcorn.
Survivors are his wife, Bobbie Jean Alcorn of Oliver Springs; seven sons, C.D.
"Chuck" Alcorn and wife, Marsha Alcorn of Oliver Springs, Larry Alcorn and wife Judy Alcorn, of
Oliver Springs, Eddy Alcorn and wife, Gretchen Alcorn, of Knoxville, Bryon Alcorn and wife, Lesli
Alcorn, of Knoxville, Burl Alcorn and wife, Darlene Alcorn, of Oliver Springs, and Michael Alcorn, also
of Oliver Springs; two daughters, Sherryl Poole and husband, Johnny Poole of Cleveland, Tenn., and
Catherine D. Alcorn of Oliver Springs; four brothers, W.L. "Bill" Alcorn and wife, Nina Alcorn of Oliver
Springs, Ray Alcorn and wife Bess Alcorn of Oliver Springs, Claude Alcorn and wife, Libby Alcorn, of
Florida and Paul Alcorn of Oliver Springs; 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were
conducted Monday, Feb. 12, in Sharp Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Harmon and Rev.
Kenneth Stubbs officiating. Family received friends Monday. Graveside services were Tuesday,
Feb. 13, in Oliver Springs Cemetery.
