Gertie (MaMa) Branum Andrews, 85 of Blacksferry Road, Knoxville, died Thursday at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was born March 22, 1908 in the Loyston community, which was covered by the waters of Norris Lake in the 1930s. Her parents were the late J.R. and Hyla Clark Kidwell.

She was a member of the Karns Church of Christ.

Her husband, G.J. (Slim) Andrews, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and JoAnn Branum of Knoxville and J.R. (Jim) and Kimberly Branum of Kodak; grandchildren, Marty, Ronnie, Dale, Ronnie Lynn and Elyxia; a great-grandchild, Andrea; stepdaughters, Lacue Smith, Letrice Andrews and Labon Busby all of Memphis; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 8:30 pm Sunday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Clyde Gray and Edd Jones officiating. Burial will be at 2 pm Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Knoxville. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
