Former Marlow community resident, Bob Armes, 58, of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, died Friday in Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga.
Mr. Armes was born March 26, 1936 in Anderson County to Standish and Pearl Armes.
He attended Poplar Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Armes was employed by U.S. Pipe and Sunbelt Transportation, BASF. He enjoyed gardening.
Mr. Armes was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Armes; parents; sister, Lucille Marsiglia; and brothers, Frank Armes, Millard Armes and Earl Armes.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Armes of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; son, Timothy Armes of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Robert and Hannah Michelle Armes; sisters, Freddie Allman and husband Bill of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; Rosa Seiber and husband Edd of Oliver Springs, Ruby Freels and husband H.M. of Knoxville, and Stella Morgan of Oliver Springs; brother, Chilton Childs of Maylene, AL; sister-in-law, Reba Armes of Berea, OH; brother-in-law, Frank Marsiglia of Baltimore, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Monday in Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Milford Ely officiating. Burial was in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
