Cora England Bailey, 70, of Lake
City, died July 11 at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was a member of the
First Baptist Church of
Briceville and a member of the KEEN Club.
Mrs. Bailey was a retired
cashier. She worked at
the Corner Drug Store in Lake City and had also worked at
Levi's.
She was born Aug. 14,
1921, in Anderson County and was a lifelong resident of the
area.
Her husband, Clint C.
Bailey, died in 1979. Her father was the late Charles
England.
Survivors include her mother,
Sallie Braden of Briceville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia
(Susie) and Don Veale of
Clearwater, Fla., Donna and Donnie Bennett, Margaret Hannah and Joe
Foust, all of Lake City; six
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, William B. Braden of
Briceville; six sisters, Helen
Mlinarcik of Munroe Falls, Ohio; Vandalee Hensley of Claxton; Wilma
Hooks, Bonnie Long, Mary
Williams, Cleta Long, all of Briceville; several nieces and nephews and
other relatives and
friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in the chapel of Martin
Funeral Home in Lake
City with the Rev. Thomas Byrge and the Rev. Rick Teague officiating.
Burial was Wednesday at
Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the First
Baptist Church of
Briceville.
