Rufe Avery Bailey, 91, died Monday at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City.

Mr. Bailey formally lived on Hill Court in North Clinton, but had resided in Jefferson City for the past two years.

He was a member of the Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church. Before retiring he had worked as both a school bus and cab driver in Anderson County.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Louise Cameron of Jefferson City; a son Rufe Bailey Jr. of Clinton; grandsons, Robert, Ronnie, William and Sam Cameron, all of Jefferson City; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Phillips and Maude Webber, both of Clitnon; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:30 pm at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Braden and the Rev. Bedford Bullock officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 am Thursday at Robbins Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday.
