Ione Starr Bandy, 97, of Oak Ridge died Feb. 18 at the Anderson County Health Care Center.

She was born July 18, 1896, in Newark, Ohio.

Her parents were the late George Washington and Anna Miller Starr. Her husband, Alfred Jerome Bandy, and a son, Wallace Bandy, also preceded her in death.

A homemaker, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Bandy had live in this area since 1979.

Survivors include two children, Jeannine Hoskins and her husband, Hobert G. Hoskins Jr. of Oliver Springs; and Gayla Murray of Oak Ridge; three grandchildren; four great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held Saturday at Sharp Funeral Home Chapel in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Dr. Larry Dipboye officiating. Burial will be at noon Tuesday in the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery in Greenville.
