Bessie Barber, 81, of Fraterville community, Lake City Rt. 2, died Monday at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

She was a member of Fraterville Baptist Church. Her husband, Jack Barber, preceded her in death.

Survivors include seven daughters, Ruby Wilson, Kathleen Daughtery, Fay Barber, all of Fraterville community; Alma Hegwood of Gainesville, FL; Patsy Burress of Chattanooga; Helen Sharp and Nancy Braden of Briceville; sons, J.B. Barber and Curtis Lee Barber of Fraterville, and Tommy Carl Barber of Briceville; three sisters, Mary McCoy of Briceville; Genevie Haun of Powell and Imogene Wilson of Fairbanks, AK; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Fraterville Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Sharp and the Rev. Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
