Ireland Mae Barker, 77, of Moccasin Lane, Clinton, died March 13 in the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Services were Wednesday afternoon in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Woods officiating. Burial was in Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Halls Christian Church.
Mrs. Barker was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Bristol, VA to the late Thomas Arthur and Orpha Droak Powell.
She was a member of Hall’s Christian Church.
A secretary, she retired after 32 years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Her husband, Henry S. Barker Sr., died in 1967, and a stepson, Roger S. Barker, also died earlier.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Henry S. Barker of Clinton, Arthur R. and Mary E. Barker of Atlanta, GA; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Donald and Verna Barker of Long Branch, NJ, stepdaughter-in-law, Catherine Barker of Clinton; grandchildren, Emory, John, Don, Dean, Kathy, Mary Alice, Russell, William, Alan, Kendra, Robert and Perry; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen V. Powell, and a brother, Thomas L. Powell, both of Bristol, VA.
