Omeda Anna Barnes




Omeda Anna Crutchfield Barnes, of Route 1, Caryville, died Thursday, Aug. 28 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was 57.

Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of the late Hiram and Dolly Crutchfield and was also preceded in death by her husband Hubert Everette Barnes and two brothers.

She was a member of Vasper Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Michael Boyd Barnes of Florida, Larry Steven Barnes of Bowling Green, KY, James Everette Barnes, Brian Russell Barnes and Robert Wayne Barnes all of Caryville; five daughters, Sandra Kay Hill of Clinton, Linda Carol Barnes and Cathy Darlene Leinart of Lake City, Terry Lynn Barnes of Caryville and Lisa Ann Brown of Knoxville; six brothers, James Franklin Crutchfield and Coy Crutchfield of Caryville, Collis Crutchfield of Detroit, Mack Crutchfield of Knoxville, Ansil Crutchfield of Bryson City, NC and Johnny Crutchfield of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Lorene V. Knight of Copperscove, TX and Millie Crutchfield of Lake City and 12 grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30 at the Chapel of Martin’s Funeral Home in Lake City. The Rev. Cleo Whaley will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-9 pm at Martin’s Chapel. Burial will be at the Leach Cemetery in Clear Branch.
