Paul Bass, 70, of Oliver Springs, died Sunday in Park West Medical Center, Knoxville.

A Campbell County native, he lived in the Oliver Springs area for the past 60 years. Mr. Bass was a retired truck driver and coal miner.

Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Clara Taylor Bass.

Survivors include daughter, Hazel Peralta of Detroit, Mich.; brothers, Willard Bass of Oliver Springs, the Rev. Clyde Bass of Oliver Springs, Elgin Bass of Norris and Porter Bass of Oak Ridge; sisters, Evelyn Lively of Oliver Springs and Mary Gardner of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Wednesday in Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Bass and the Rev. Clyde Bass officiating. Burial followed in Mineral Springs Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
