Stella Hooks Braden, age 91, of Briceville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Lake City Health Care Center in Lake City. She was born July 17, 1911, in Anderson
County, to the late Bratcher and Ann Elizabeth Hooks. Mrs. Braden was the oldest member of Indian Bluff Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed family get-togethers, flowers, quilting, listening to music and her many pets. Stella is preceded in death by: Parents; husband, William Riley Braden; children, Lorene Braden, Kenneth Braden and Barbara Daugherty; grandchildren, Angela Braden and Michael Braden; brothers, Harvey Hooks, Floyd Hooks, Willie Hooks and Jimmy Hooks; sister, Lustre Hooks

Visitation si 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Hatmaker Funeral Home. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Indian Bluff Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Randolph and the Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Indian Bluff Cemetery in Briceville. Hatmaker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
