Charles Byrge, 57, of Oak Ridge died Sunday, March 17, 1996, in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Byrge was a self-employed sub-contractor who installed sound systems in various churches in Anderson County. He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force and of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, George W. Byrge.
Survivors are Ruth Byrge of Oak Ridge; daughters, Christy and her husband, Lynn Holt, of Claxton and Melanie and her husband, Ronnie Coker of Oak Ridge;
grandchildren, Jessica, Justin Troy and Christopher; a special friend whom he considers a son, Tim Woodfin of Chattanooga;
children by a previous marriage, Sharon and husband, Don Yearwood, Gail and husband David Headrick, Terisa and husband Charles Smith, all of Knoxville, Rick and wife, Diane Byrge, of Knoxville; mother, Catherine Byrge of Knoxville; sisters, Jackie Burns, Gerrie Byrge and Colleen Patterson of Knoxville; and brothers, George and Bill Byrge of Knoxville.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Ivey officiating. Interment
was in Solway Church of God Cemetery. Family received friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home.
