Funeral services were held Saturday at Cox Funeral Home for Glenmore Carden, 69, of Lake City, who died Jan. 28 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. The Rev. Don Martin officiated. Burial will be at 2 pm today (Sunday) at Island Ford Cemetery. Masonic services will also be held.
Mr. Carden was born April 22, 1923 in Coal Creek, now Lake City, to the late Rufus and Edith Maples Carden. Several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
He was retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority at Norris where he was a tool crib supervisor for the Wholesale Power Distribution Section. Since retiring, he had been employed at ACCOD.
Mr. Carden served with the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City and was a member of Coal Creek Lodge No. 492, F&AM.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Hazel Beach Miller Carden of Lake City; sister, Marie Cox of Lake City; stepson and wife, R.L. and Angie Miller of Charleston, SC; step- grandsons, Glenn Miller and Scott Miller of Charleston; mother-in-law, Vina Sharp of Lake City and many nieces and nephews.
