Mary Ann Carden




Mary Ann Stooksbury Carden, 93, of Clinton, died Wednesday in Kiowa, KS.

Mrs. Carden had lived 91 years in Clinton before moving to Kansas. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Carden retired from Magnet Mills after 40 years.

She was preceded in death by sons, William E. and O. Lavern Carden; parents, Alivs and Betty Irwin Stooksbury; eight brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include daughter and sons-in-law, Virginia and Jack Circle of Kiowa, Kansas, and Betty and H.D. Whitehead of Clinton; five grandsons, Jack Circle Jr., of Tulsa, OK; William E. Carden of Cedar Rapids, IO; H. D. Whitehead Jr., of Knoxville; R. Scott Whitehead of Kingston and Steven B. Whitehead of Oak Ridge; three granddaughters, Sara Circle of Wichita, Kansas; Jan Tatowicz of Watauga, TX and Cathy McCumber of Avondale Estates, GA; eight great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Tuesday in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Wilson officiating. Burial was 10 am Wednesday in Sunset Cemetery.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton was in charge of arrangements.
