Margaret Thompson Carr, 84, of Bland Road, Clinton Rt. 7, died Friday morning at the Lake City Health Care Center. Mrs. Carr made her home with her granddaughter, Margaret Ann, and her husband, Donnie Anderson.

Mrs. Carr was a native of Lumberton, NC. Her husband was the late Lynden Carr. He died in 1990.

She earned her B.S. degree at the University of Tennessee and taught for 30 years at the Tennessee School for the Deaf.

Mrs. Carr was a member of the Knoxville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce McBride of Knoxville; four granddaughters, Margaret Ann Anderson of Clinton; Alice Lowe, Amy and Grace McBride of Knoxville; four great-grandchildren, Leslie, Jamie, Dallas and Miranda.

A memorial service will be at 7 pm tonight (Sunday) at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Seals officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm.
