Aimee Suzanne Johnson Cates, 27, of Clinton, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge of cancer.

Mrs. Cates was attending classes at Pellissippi State Technical Community College.

She was born in Anderson County on Nov. 30, 1970, the daughter of Arnold and Carolyn Johnson of Clinton. She was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cates is survived by two sons, Stephen Michael Cates of Lake City and Elijah Jave Cates of Clinton; three sisters, Kim Daugherty, Pam Clevenger and Cara Foust, all of Clinton; her grandparents, Marshall and Cora Johnson and Dossie Nelson, all of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews.

Friends she considered special were George and Jennifer Webber of Powell and Jason Lay of Alabama.

Her grandfather Burley Nelson died earlier.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Farmers Grove Baptist Church in Clinton with the Rev. Moss Beets officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, Aug. 21, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
