Matthew Edward Cheatwood, the infant son of Michael Dale and Shannon Lee Gitgood Cheatwood of Clinton, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at Children's Hospital in Knoxville on the day after he was born.
In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his sister and his brother, Ashley Cheatwood and Cody Cheatwood; his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Viki Gitgood of Oak Ridge; his paternal grandmother, Gail Cheatwood of Clinton; and his maternal great-grandmother, Lillian M. Johnston of Oak Ridge.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Ed Craven and the Rev. Robert Martin officiating.
The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to Children's Hospital, 2018 Clinch Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916, or to Oak Ridge Alliance Church, 109 Raleigh Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
