The First Pentecostal Church was built on the side of the highway below Lillian Scarbrough's
home. It burned around 1929.
Until land was purchased from Sam Lester, which was formally owned by G.P. Norman, to build another building, services were held in members' homes.
Reverend J.W. Richards, who came to Briceville from Fork Ridge, TN, in 1918, established the Free Pentecostal Church. This church still stands today which began September 24, 1932, with 32 members.
Reverend Richards died in June, 1942. Since
then some of the pastors have been:
Rev. Charlie Miles of Briceville (deceased)
Rev. Charlie Miles Jr. of Lake City (deceased)
and Rev. Condy Pyle of Clear Branch Road in Lake
City.
Reverend Houston Carroll of Briceville is now serving as pastor. Membership is 106. Oldest member is Lily York, age 83. Oldest member on record is Rosa Seiber of
Briceville.
