The church was established on April 25, 1925. George Camp, the owner of the Fratersville
Area, deeded the land for the church in 1928. He was superintendent of the Coal Creek Company, owned by his father, E.C. Camp, known as the major.
Robby and Eddie Lindsey, brothers, were two of the charter members of the church. Robby
became one of the church's first pastors.
The community held services, first in a house. My earliest memories include the church services and the Christmas plays.
A frame building replaced the original church around 1931 - 1933. It was destroyed by fire shortly after. Later a smaller structure served the community until 1948 when a large concrete building was finished. It is still in use as Sunday School rooms. A new auditorium with a baptistry was built in 1988. It was built by men of the church. Otis Kesterson, brick mason, constructed the walls and was assisted by James Wilson, Jr.
William (Bill) Lamb served the church as pastor for over 20 years until health problems caused his retirement.
The present pastor is William L. (Bill) Thomas. The church has approximately 400 members. Deacons are Homer Braden, Earl Scarbro, Ralph Bowlin, Troy West, David Hawkins, and Lewis Tackett, who is chairman of the deacon board.
Johnny George is church clerk and janitor. His wife, Billie, is his assistant. Nancy Sharp is president of the W.M.U. and Carolyn Cox is secretary. Church
trustees are Leon Braden, Carl Hawkins, Richard Stogsdill and Billy Bullock. The church youth choir is composed of 30 members with Sue Tackett as director and Gail Bullock Harris assistant. Ora Mae Phillips is church pianist; assistant is Jimmy Bullock. Tony Bullock and Charlie Bullock are guitarists for the church and the youth choir. Choir leader is Ralph Bowlin, assisted by Earl Scarbro. Sunday School Superintendent is Richard Stogsdill and his assistant is Bradly Templin. Sunday School Secretary is Janet Hawkins; Linda West is he assistant.

Judy Jones, Betty Thomas, Arthorine Wilson, Nancy Sharp, Sue Tackett, Reta Duff, Richard Stogsdill, Bradly Templin, David Hawkins, Troy West, Sandra Hawkins and Connie Weaver.
Special singers are Patricia Braden and Billie George. Building committee is Richard Stogsdill, Billy Bullock, Chris Thomas, Kenny Ward, Tony Bullock and Lewis Tackett.
