Troy Vaughn Daniel, 78, died Sunday at Park West medical Center in Knoxville.
He lived on Henderson Road in the Claxton community.
Mr. Daniel was born July 23, 1914, in Union County to the late William and Maude Worsham Daniel.
He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church. He retired after 35 years with Rust Engineering as a rodman. Mr. Daniel was a member of the Local Labor Union 818 in Knoxville.
During World War II, he worked with the CCC Camps in Scott County.
A son, C.R. Foust, died in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Oma L. Daniel; daughters, Mrs. James (Sue) Moneymaker of Clinton; Mrs. Bill (Velma) Cofer of Claxton; Mrs. Joseph (Bertha) Arnold of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Mrs. Stella Shelton of Powell; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Patricia Daniel, Charles and Janis Daniel, Harold and Barbara Daniel and Clifton and Brenda Daniel, all of Claxton; 29 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, the Rev. M.J. Daniel of Powell and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Corbin Mounger and the Rev. Robert Settles officiating. Burial was at Middle Creek Cemetery in Sevierville.
