Anna M. Daugherty




Anna Marie Freels Daugherty, 83, died Monday at her home on Spring Street, Clinton.

The family received friends 7-8:30 pm Thursday in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with the Rev. Bedford Bullock officiating. Burial will be 11 am Friday in the Batley Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Daugherty retired from magnet Mill in Clinton, where she had worked in the Finishing Department for many years.

She later worked in the Scottish Inn in Clinton, and as a companion for several sick and shut-ins.

She was a charter member of Batley Baptist Church, where she taught the Young People’s Sunday School Class for many years.

She was born April 18, 1910 in Clinton to the late Sam and Bessie Fields Freels.

Her husband, Harvey Daugherty, died January 1963. Her brothers, Herbert, Hugh and Jack, and sisters, Deannie and Beulah, preceded her in death.

Survivors include brothers, Joe Freels of Karns; Alfred Freels of Clinton; sisters, Margaret Hoskins, Elinora Gallion and Audrey Wood, all of Clinton; Jean Simmons of Oliver Springs; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
