Jimmy Davidson, 16, the son of a former Clinton couple, died Monday afternoon in a head-on automobile collision in Louisville, KY. His parents are the Rev. and Mrs. Larry (Terri) Davidson of SBTS, Box 786, 2825 Lexington Drive, Louisville, KY.
The head-on collision also killed a friend, who was riding in the Davidson car, and a man who was in the other vehicle. Brent Davidson, a brother, was also injured and is listed in serious but stable condition at the University of Louisville Humana Hospital. The two young men died instantly and the man in the other vehicle died later at a Louisville area hospital.
Jimmy would have been a junior in high school this fall.
The Davidson lived in Clinton from 1980 to 1988. Mrs. Davidson worked as an instruction assistant at Clinton Elementary School. Mr. Davidson was in the security department at the X-10 ORNL Plant in Oak Ridge and worked with the youth at Second Baptist Church where the family attended.
Mr. Davidson is now serving as minister of the Rolling Fork Baptist Church in New Haven.
Survivors also include a sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Brad (Asha) Flaming of Knoxville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Davidson of Heiskell; and James Crawhorn of Radcliffe, KY; and Doris McAdams of Boston, KY; one nephew, Clay Fleming of Knoxville; shunts, Jane Prince of New Castle, IN; Karen Darrah of Radcliffe, KY; uncles, John Crawhorn of Heiskell; Jim Crawhorn of Andersonville and John Davidson of Heiskell.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Rolling Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim McPherson officiating. The family will receive friends at Norris Memorial Gardens at 1:30 pm Thursday. Graveside services will follow at 2 pm.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Joseph Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven and Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
