Charlie Frank Disney, age 47, of Briceville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was a member if Laurel Branch Baptist Church in Briceville. Charlie loved going to church and playing and singing in church. He loved witnessing of the Lord. Charlie also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Rosie Whitaker Disney; sister, Wilma Disney Phillips; brother, Carl Disney.
Survivors: wife, Kathy Lawson Disney of Briceville; daughters, Crystal Daugherty of Briceville; Layla Hooks of Andersonville; Melissa Disney of Clinton; Ashley Disney of VanBuren County; step-son, Paul Davis Burris of Briceville; sisters, Joann Sampsell and husband Val of Caryville; Thelma Phillips and husband John of Lake City; Beatrice Phillips and husband Calvin of Lake City; brothers, John “J.E.” Disney, Ernest Disney, Steve Disney and wife Katrina, all of Lake City; special mother-in-law and father-in-law, Susie Lawson and the late Howard Lawson; brothers-in-law, Tim Lawson and wife Barbara of Clinton; Steve Lawson of Briceville; sister-in-law, Linda Rutherford of Lake City; two grandchildren; three special nieces; two special nephews; host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family received friends 6-8 pm Monday, Dec. 24, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the funeral service following at 8 pm with the Rev. Steve Seiber and the Rev. Archie Seiber officiating.
Interment was at 11 am Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001 at Circle Cemetery in Briceville.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City in charge of all arrangements.
