Martha Watlington Ealy, 89, of Powell died Thursday, Sept 25, 1997, in Asbury Acres Nursing Home, Maryville.

She resided in Powell most of her life. She was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Datis Kendrick Ealy; parents, James S. Watlington and Minnie Cooper Watlington; one sister, Dossie W. Glandon; and two brothers, Otis Watlington and John Watlington.

Survivors include her son, Ronald G. Ealy of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Dwain and Sally Ealy of Athens, TN; two grandchildren, Dr. Lewis and Ellen Ealy Petree of Braselton, GA; and D. Carlton Ealy of Athens; two great-grandchildren, Holden and Margaret Petree of Braselton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday, Sept. 27, prior to the service in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton.

Burial will be 4 pm Sunday, Sept. 28, in the cemetery at Valley View United Methodist Church in Claxton with the Rev. John Jackson officiating.
