Earnest Clyde Keeney, 67, of Heiskell Rt. 1, died Tuesday morning at Anderson County Health Care Center.

He was born July 24, 1925, in Knox County to the late Joe and Sarah Welch Keeney.

His wife, Ruth Hazel Keeney, died Feb. 24, 1991.

Mr. Keeney was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Waste Management Co. at the Chestnut Ridge Landfill before his health declined.

Mr. Keeney was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a stepson, Doyle and Dorothy Atkins of Knoxville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Nola Smith of Jackson, Minn.; Elza Dake of Heiskell; Ruby Barth of Knox County; brother, Fred Keeney of Heiskell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 8 pm Wednesday (tonight) in the chapel of Holley- Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Ruble Helton officiating. Burial will be at 11 am Thursday at Wolf Valley Baptist Cemetery.
