Samuel Edmonds




Samuel Edmonds, 65, of Harriman, died Friday in Harriman City Hospital.

Mr. Edmonds was a life-long resident of this area. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Martin-Marietta Y-12 Plant as a materials handler. Mr. Edmonds was charter member and served as a deacon of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and was the church treasurer. He also was a charter member of Tri-County Sportsman’s Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lydia Jones Edmonds and by a son, Bennie Paul Edmonds.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Hendrickson Edmonds of Harriman; son and daughter-in-law, George A. and Debbie Edmonds of Harriman; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Davis and Lisa and Frankie Davis, all of Harriman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Billy and ImoGene Edmonds and David and Phyllis Edmonds all of Oliver Springs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Jim Murphy of Claxton , Betty and Carl Thorton of Coalfield and Alberta and Jeff Carroll of Hammond, IN; and grandsons, Troy Waldo, Clint Edmonds, Samuel Davis and Ben Davis.

Funeral service will be 4 pm Sunday in Pine Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Gleason McKamey officiating. Burial will follow in Roane Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Pine Ridge Baptist Church Activity Van Fund, 805 Dickey Valley Road, Harriman, TN 37748.
