Mary Evelyn Weaver Elkins, 73, of Powell, died suddenly July 18 of a heart attack while visiting her daughter in Minnesota.

An Anderson County native, she had worked as a realtor with the Libby Allen Reality company for several years.

Her parents were the late Mr. & Mrs. Rufus Elkins of Anderson County. Mrs. Elkins’ husband, Wilbur Elkins, preceded her in death.

She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church in Powell.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph D. and Linda Elkins of Andersonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Dr. Joseph B. Moon of Knoxville; Gail and Dr. Traz Akhavan of Minnesota; eight grandchildren; a sister, Nell Lambdin of Clinton, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held July 23 at Glenwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Dudley D. Cochrum officiating. Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.
