Ruby Shaw Elkins, 71, of the Medford community, Clinton, died Sunday, , Feb. 18, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. Elkins was born July 10, 1924 in Anderson County. She was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church and past worthy matron of Coal Creek Chapter No. 226 O.E.S.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Lee and Frankie Parks Shaw.
Survivors are her husband of 47 years, Francis Elkins of Clinton; daughter, Fran Elkins of Clinton; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Charles T. Duff of Lake City; grandchildren, Jennifer Peterman of Knoxville; Richard Duff of Clinton and Stephanie Duff of Lake City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dick and Katie Shaw of Paris, TN; and Sam and Sue Shaw of Ozark, AL; sister, Mae Weidman of Detroit, MI; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service was 8 pm Monday, Feb. 19, in Cox Funeral Home chapel, Lake City, with Rev. Tom Byrge and Rev. George DeLozier officiating. Eastern Star Rites preceded the funeral service.
Family received friends 6-8 pm Monday in Cox Funeral Home. Interment was 11 am Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Sunset Cemetery, Clinton.
