Edgar James Elliott, age 77, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, Sept.14, 1999, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Elliott retired as Mill Right with Carpenter’s Local No. 102. He was a member of Andersonville Valley Masonic Lodge No. 383. He was also a United States Army Veteran who served in World War I I.
He was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Anderson County.
Preceded in death by parents, Tate and Amanda Wiggins Elliott.
Survivors: Wife, Lora Ruth Elliott, Clinton; daughter, Lana Brubaker and husband, Jimmy, of Andersonville; son, Gary Wayne Elliott and wife, Janet, of Clinton; grandchildren Kristy, Coley, Rachel Brubaker and Mark Wayne Elliott; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Logan and Kelsey Elliott; sisters, Vianne Pyatt and husband, James, of Clinton, Johnnie Hughes and husband, Elmer, of Powell, Jean Irwin and husband, Floyd, of Dayton, Ohio, and Lissie Stooksbury of Clinton; brother, Carl Elliott and wife, Reba, of Clinton; several nieces and nephews and host of friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
Funeral service in the chapel will follow visitation with the Rev. Mark Keith and Dr. Robert Burnes officiating.
Interment will be 11 am, Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, in Norris Memorial Gardens.
