A retired Tennessee Valley Authority employee, Phillip Rodney (Ronnie) Elliott, 60, of Lake City, died Sunday at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He retired in 1984 from the TVA power maintenance operations in Knoxville after 30 years service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union.
A Scott County native, Mr. Elliott was the son of the late Jesse Wade Elliott and Ethel Newport Elliott. He was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church near Lake City and was a Marine Corps veteran.
His wife Mamie Ruth Adkins Elliott, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Steve Lopez of Clinton; two sons, Jimmy Ray Elliott and Phillip Lynn Elliott and wife, Erma, all of Lake City; former daughter-in-law, Clarice Elliott of LaFollette; 10 grandchildren; six brothers, James H. Elliott of Lake City; Tommy Elliott of Columbia, SC; George Elliott of Lake City; Jack Elliott of Lake City; Paul Elliott of Indianapolis, IN; and Kenneth Elliott of Lake City.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George DeLozier officiating. Burial was in Norris Memorial Gardens.
