Thomas “Tom” A. Emert, 73, of Claxton community died Tuesday in his home.
A. U.S. Army veteran, he received five Bronze Stars for service in World War II.
Mr. Emert was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Wanda Emert of Claxton; two sons, Joe Emert of Loudon and Paul R. Emert of Knoxville; one daughter, Brenda Caldwell of Knoxville; two brothers, Clyde Emert of Knoxville and Bill Emert of Luttrell; one sister, Nadine Rose of Claxton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Thursday in Highland-Holly Hills South Chapel, Knoxville, with the Rev. Greg Inklebarger officiating. Burial was Friday in Highland-Holly Hills South Cemetery.
