Anna Mae England, age 82, of Clinton passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 at Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge.
She was born June 17, 1918 in Campbell County.
She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she was a member of Circle One Women’s Group for many years. She was a member of the Clinton Lodge Order of Rebecca’s and an active member of the AARP organization.
Anna Mae had worked at Magnet Hosiery Mill in Clinton for approximately 25 years as a mender until leaving for Washington, DC, where she took a job working for Woodward and Lothrop Department Store for about five years before returning to Clinton. She enjoyed doing volunteer work for health centers and loved helping the patients. On one occasion she received and award from Lake City Health Care Center as “Volunteer of the Year.”
Preceded in death by: first husband, Alga Duncan; second husband, Marian G. England; son, Wendell Ervin Duncan; parents, Amman and Carrie Sharp Bullock; sisters, Reba Miller, Ethel Turner, Cora Moore, Lillian Murray; brothers, Hubert Bullock, Alonzo Bullock and Riley Bullock.
Survivors: Daughter, Barbara Patterson and husband Roy of Knoxville; son, James C. Duncan of Oak Ridge; step-son, Boyce England and wife Betty of Oak Ridge; step-daughters, Wanda Billington of Oak Ridge; Vanda Fikes of St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Bullock of Clinton; Luther Bullock and wife Bessie of Clinton; Vaughn Bullock and wife Aitress of Knoxville; half brother, Vestal Bullock; step-brother, Bobby.
The family received friends 3-5 pm Friday, Jan. 26, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 5 pm in the chapel with the Rev. John Clark and the Rev. Lee Cate officiating. Family and friends met for interment at 1 pm Saturday at Bells Campground in Knoxville.
