Funeral services were held Saturday in the chapel of Martin Clinton Funeral Home for Essie Lee Escue, 76, of Clinton Towers, Clinton. The Rev. Bill Rowland officiated. Burial was at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Mrs. Escue died April 1 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

She was born in Pineville, KY and moved to Oak Ridge from LaFollette in the early 1940s. She worked as a nurse at Oak Ridge Hospital for several years. She moved to Clinton in 1975 and was a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Anderson County. She was a Protestant.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Madge and John C. Summers of Holyoke, MA, and Vivian and Perry Rosenbaum of Clinton; two sons, William and Shady McBee of Holly Springs, Miss., and John and Brenda Sue McBee of Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Amster and Lucy Parrott of Morrow, OH; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ora Mae and W.P. Davis of Tucker, GA; and Myrtle Hilton of Pine Hill, KY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
