Moses Phillips was one of the early pastors of Beech Fork Church. Moses was born June 25, 1825 and his family had settled near Jacksboro in the early 1800's.

Moses Phillips married Susannah C Ward, the daughter of Benjamin Ward, on May 18, 1846. Moses and Susannah were the parents of a large family. Here are SOME of their children:
Emily Phillips, born 1848, married Martin Kennedy.
Mary Phillips born 1849, prob died young.
Elizabeth Phillips, born 1850.
James Phillips, born 1852.
Nancy Phillips, born 1853.
Pharo Phillips, born 1855 (a twin).
Clarisa Phillips, born 1855 (a twin).
Margaret Phillips, born 1859.
Catherine Phillips, born 1861 (a twin).
Lincoln Phillips, born 1861 (a twin).
Mary Ann Phillips, born 1864.
Elmira Philips, born 1867.

Moses died April 22, 1877. He is buried at the Beech Fork Baptist Church Cememtery, Campbell Co.Tn.
