Spessard Family
The Spessard family, Anderson County, came from Pennsylvania to Tennessee in the late 1790's. The Spessards were among a group of German settlers brought to the Tennessee area by Fredrick Saddler. Other group members were Charley Shinlever, John Clotfelter, Jacob Leib, and John Rich. They settled in "Dutch Valley", Anderson County. John Spessard bought land on Cane Creek from Jacob Leinart. John Spessard died in October 1830. He had five heirs.
