Herman Lee Fincher




Herman Lee Fincher, 65, of White Oak Avenue, Oliver Springs, died Monday at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Services will be Thursday at 1 pm at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Charles Parker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks for memorials to the American Heart Association/Anderson County Unit, P.O. Box 3014, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-3014. The family will receive friends Wednesday (tonight) from 7-9 at Weatherford’s in Oak Ridge.

Mr. Fincher was born Nov. 13, 1927, in Live Oak, FL, to William Henry Fincher and Nancy Ann Harris Fincher.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oliver Springs and worked as a carpenter with Robert C. Fox Builders, Inc.

His wife, Lena Pullum Fincher, died April 18, 1986.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Lee Fincher of LaFollette and Howard Dee Fincher and his wife, Merilyn of Oliver Springs; a daughter, Ethel Elaine Fincher Dukes of Oliver Springs; two brothers, James Joseph Fincher of Poteau, OK; and Monroe Holland Fincher of Joplin, MO; three sisters, Ethel Mae McCoy of Breckenridge, TX; Velma Kirby of Live Oak, FL; and Nora B. Morris of Snyder, TX; two granddaughters, Kara Michele Dukes and Donna Jo Dukes of Oliver Springs.
