Charles James Ford, 71, died on Monday, Oct. 15, at his home at Clinton Route 8. He had been suffering from an illness for several years.
Born in Campbell County, Ford had lived in Anderson County for the past 50 years or so. He formerly was employed as a custodian with the Anderson County Schools system.
Ford was of the Baptist faith and is survived by his wife, Virgie Wilson Ford.
Other survivors include five sons, Thomas L. Ford, Edward W. Ford and Ernest L. Ford, all of Clinton, and Robert (Henry) Ford and Howard Ford of Powell; two daughters, Juanita Ford McKamey and Ilene Ford Daugherty of Clinton; a brother, Henry Ford of Dayton, OH; two sisters, Opha White and Pearl Jones of Clinton; 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends at Clinton Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. Funeral services were to be held at 2 pm on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Clinton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Homer Bean and the Rev. Hubert Marlow officiating.
The burial will follow the funeral in the Dutch Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery.
