Roy Charles (R.C.) Gallaher, 51, of Poplar Creek Road, Oliver Springs Rt. 2, died at his home on Nov. 6 after a short illness.
Mr. Gallaher had been employed as a truck driver for Browning-Ferris Industries for the past seven years. He also had worked for Tidi Waste Systems for several years.
Mr. Gallaher was born in the Wheat Community. His parents were the late Sadie Rather and Charles Gallaher. He was a member of New Fairview Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. He was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Prater Gallaher; a daughter, Andrea Gallaher and a son Robby Gallaher, all at home; four sisters, Mary Hembree of Lenior City; Marie Ward of Oliver Springs; Katherine Giles of Clinton and Lucille Poland of Harriman; two brothers, Jim Gallaher of Clinton and Carlos (Bud) Gallaher of Oliver Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at New Fairview Baptist with the Rev. Ted Raby, the Rev. Kenneth Stubbs and the Rev. Mark Gallaher officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
