Maude Marie Galloway, age 95, of Lenoir City, formerly of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, in Methodist Medical Center.
She was born July 19, 1902, in Roane County to James and Mary Sneed. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW. She enjoyed visiting at flea markets.
Preceded in death by husband, Vernon Galloway; parents, James and Mary Sneed; sister, Sue Daughtery; and brothers, John Sneed, Carl Sneed and Virgil Stepp.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Ethel and Bob Elder of Titusville, FL; and Mamie and J.P. Wheeler of Clinton; son, Ernest Bailey of Celina, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Mary Bailey of Lenoir City; sister, Bertha Jones of Caryville; brother, Bill Stepp of Dayton, OH; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 7-8 pm Thursday, Aug. 7, in Cox-Martin Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 pm in Cox-Martin Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Calloway officiating.
Interment will be 11 am Friday, Aug. 8, in Leach Cemetery.
