Vernon H. Galloway




Vernon H. Galloway, 73, of Dayton, Ohio, died Monday in Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.

The son of Arden and Delia Stepp Galloway, he was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Brevard, NC.

He was a retired contract residential builder for many years in the Detroit area and Ohio. Mr. Galloway was a member of the VFW and the American Legion, and was a WW II U.S. Army veteran. He was a Baptist faith. Mr. Galloway enjoyed collecting antique tools.

Survivors include his wife, Maude Marie Galloway of Dayton; step-children, Mamie and J.P. Wheeler, of Clinton; Howard and Mary Bailey of Lenoir City and Ethel and Bob Elder of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wade A. and Annette Galloway of Oak Ridge; James A. and Emily Galloway of Montana and Alfred and Sharon Galloway of Washington; four step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 8 pm Thursday, June 2, in Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Powell officiating. Burial will be 11 am Friday in Leach Cemetery, Lake City.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday in Cox Funeral Home, Lake City.
