Elizabeth Gann




Elizabeth Rae Gann, age 59, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

She was born Feb. 14, 1940, in Shelby, NC and had lived in this area since 1944. She was a member of Beech Park Baptist Church and worked as a chemical operator at the Y-12 plant for 24 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Wray Hawkins and Millie Rae Nobblitt Hawkins and by a grandson, Corey Wray Gann.

Survivors: Husband, John L. Gann of Oliver Springs; sons, Jerry L. Gann and wife, Rhonda, of Harriman; Kenneth A. Gann and wife, Carmin, of Wartburg; Mark Comeaux of Oliver Springs; daughters, Sheila R. Gann of Oliver Springs; Heather R. Gann of Oliver Springs; Karen R. Gann of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Eric Gann, Tamra Gann, Kayla Comeaux, Tabitha Comeaux and expecting – Kane Allen Gann; brother, Jarvis L. Hawkins and wife, Barbara, of Mannassas, VA; sisters, Kathy Hatcher and husband, Ted of Oak Ridge; Sylvia Lavender and husband, Neal of Mobile, AL; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Gary Smith, Ozella Bakely, Rick Johnson, Cathy Berry and her brothers and sisters of Beech Park Baptist Church; other special friends, Kristen, Nicole, Rebecca, Libby, Melissa, Josh and Casey. The class of 1955 of Oliver Springs High School and co-workers at the Y-12 plant.

Visitation was 6-8 pm Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Sharp Funeral Home.

Funeral services were 8 pm, Friday, Sept. 3, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Home, the Rev. Gary Smith officiating.

Burial and graveside services were 11 am Saturday, Sept 4, 1999, at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
