Earl Gross, age 88, of Lake City, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at Lake City Health Care Center.
He was a member and deacon of Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City.
Mr. Gross was preceded in death by his: beloved wife, Nada Adkins Gross; parents, Isaac and Dora Gross; sister, Eunice Sharp Hawkins; brothers, J.V. and Arnold Gross.
Survivors: daughter, Anne Swisher and husband, Bob, of Lake City; son, James E. Gross and wife, Betty of Norris; grandchildren, Lisa Swisher, Robert Scott Swisher, Michael Swisher, Bridget Jones, Jess Gross; great-grandchildren, Andrew Swisher, Forrest Jones, Conner Jones, Abby Jones; sisters, Evelyn Oldham of Knoxville, Mildred Phillips and husband, Otis, of Caryville; brother, Joe Mack Gross of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Lake City Health Care staff for their live and kindness to their dad.
The family received friends Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 from 6-8 pm at Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City. Funeral services followed at 8 pm at Main Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Phillips officiating. Interment was at 1 pm Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.
