Mary Nell Hackworth of Clinton died Tuesday in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Knoxville.

Mrs. Hackworth was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton and a longtime legal secretary for the late J.M. Underwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Sally Pyatt Hackworth; and brother, Oren Hackworth.

Survivors include three sisters and a brother-in-law, Annie Jo Peters, Jamie Woodard and Ruby and Leonard Crowe, all of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be 8 pm Thursday in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Woodard officiating. Burial will be 10 am Friday in Tennessee Valley Memorial Garden.

Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday.
