Roy Hagwood




Roy Edward Hagwood, 88, of Clinton passed away Saturday, Sept. 28 in Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 31, 1907, in the Wheat community. Son of the late Joseph and Abegail Turpin Hagwood. Retired from Appalican Marble Co. as a marble cutter. Member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Hagwood and his second wife, Lizzie Hagwood.

Survivors: daughters, Joetta and husband Fred Turner of Lenoir City and Edith Brown of Clinton; son, Charles Edward and wife Peggy Hagwood of Clinton; stepson, Earl Webber; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Cagley of Harriman and Delta Ellis of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.

Family received friends 7-8:30 pm Monday, Sept 30 in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home.

Funeral services were 8:30 pm Monday, Sept. 30 in Holley-Gamble Chapel wit the Rev. Moss Beets and Rev. Jim Hulse officiating.

Interment was 11 am Tuesday in Farmers Grove Cemetery.
