Mamie Ruth Hall, 59, of West Outer
Drive, Oak Ridge,
died Jan. 7 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a long
illness.
Mrs. Hall was
born in Oliver Springs on Feb. 24, 1934, to the late Arvil and Bertha
Hall. She lived in Oliver Springs
until the family moved to Oak Ridge in the 1960s. She was a graduate of Campbell High School in Rockwood.
Mrs. Hall was a dedicated member of the Little Leaf
Baptist Church of Oliver
Springs and was baptized April 15, 1945. She actively participated in
all services, especially the
Mission Society, Sunday school and Wednesday night Bible study. One of
her greatest joys was
working in the church preparing and serving food.
She had several
hobbies including playing
softball and basketball in her younger years. She enjoyed seeing her
children and grandchildren
succeed in sports. One of her greatest pastimes was fishing and she also
enjoyed gardening and
traveling.
Her children said she was a loving mother and devoted
family
member.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Lynn Hall, who is an
orderly at Methodist Medical
Center of Oak Ridge; four daughters, Anna Marie (Mrs, Joseph) Collie of
Johnson City; Elizabeth Mae
(Kathy) and Jeanene Ruth (Genetta) Hall, all of Oak Ridge and Amanda
Hall, at home; six
grandchildren, Sky Marie and Micah Jacoby Collie of Johnson City;
Chanson, Lecreasia, Adrian and
Erica Hall, all of Oak Ridge; one sister, Mary Frances Hardin of Wilson
Land, Oliver Springs; and a
brother, Benjamin Franklin Hall of Oliver Springs; several nieces and
nephews, and godmother, Pauline
Woods of Oliver Springs.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Monday at
Little Leaf Baptist Church,
228 Tri-County Blvd., Oliver Springs, with Elder Thomas W. Dews
officiating. Burial will be at Carter
Cemetery in Oliver Springs. The family will receive frineds 6 - 7:30 pm
Sunday at Sharp Funeral
