Velna Louise Hall, 73, of Pine
Street, Clinton, died
Tuesday at Methdist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a short
illness.
Mrs. Hall, a native of
Randolph County, NC, eas the daughter of the late G.C. and Mattie Gardner
Dorsett. She was reared
in North Carolina. She lived in Norris before moving to Clinton. Her
husband, Lloyd Hall, served as a
city alderman for several years.
Mrs. Hall had worked as an
assistant teacher at the Clinton
City Schools and in the kindergarten for 16 years. She was a member of
Clinton First Baptist Church,
the XYZs and the WMU. A member of Delta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi,
she worked each year
with the Miss Tiny Tot Contest which raises money for the organization's
service
projects.
Her son said she enjoyed reading as a
pastime.
Survivors include her
husband of 51 years, Lloyd Hall of Clinton; a son and daughter-in-law,
Sidney G. and Margaret Hall of
Morristown; granddaughter, Rebecca Grace Hall and a grandson, Robert
Andrew Hall, both of
Morristown; brother, William D. Dorsett of Burlington, NC; sister,
Shirley Kemp of HIgh Point, NC, and
a niece.
Services will be at 8:30 pm today (Wednesday) at First
Baptist Church with the Rev,
Samuel Dean officiating. Burial will be at 11 am Thursday at Tennessee
Valley Memory Gardens.

arrangements.
