Dolly Lorene Hammons, 79, of Lake City, died Thursday in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

The daughter of Millard and Dovie Pratt Hammons, she was born June 27, 1915, in Anderson County. Mrs. Hammons was a member of West Side Baptist Church, Lake City.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cuma Fay Hammons; parents; sisters, Bonnie Greene, Lucille Carter, Marie Stout and Lillian Sobiniak; and brothers, Willard Hammons, Luther Hammons and Paul Hammons.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Trula and Ernest Lee Patterson of Lake City and Sue and Jimmy Young of Dearborn, MI; son, Johnny Ray Hammons and special friend, Mary Cassidy, of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Tooney Byrge, George Patterson, Audrey Patterson, Marsha Young, Marshall Young, Angie Young, Ken Young, Benny Hammons, Regina Hammons, Connie Hammons and Jimmy Hammons; great-grandchildren, Stacy Phillips, Suzanne Young, Michael Morgan, James Robert Hollenbeck, Renee Hammons, Tonya Hammons, Jennifer Hammons, Kristen Hammons, B.J. Hammons, Todd Hammons, Johnny Hammons and Tim Shular; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Clarence Houck of Lake City; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Friday in Cox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gerald Burnett and the Rev. Edwin Phillips officiating. Burial was Saturday in Leach Cemetery.
