John Gilbert Harber II, age 75, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was born March 30, 1927, in Pennington Gap, VA.
He worked for Martin Marietta Systems at the Y-112 Plant in Oak Ridge, retiring after 38 years of service.
He married Iva Deane Burress on March 12, 1956, and together they had two children, Tracy and Karen.
Preceded in death by: father and mother, John Gilbert Harber Sr. and Elma Orr Harber.
Survivors: wife of 46 years, Iva Deane Burress Harber of Clinton; son, Tracy Harber of Clinton; daughter, Karen Harber of Knoxville; grandchildren, Gilbert Harber of Clinton, Pablo Salazar of Texas; brothers, Glenn Harber and wife Hazel of Clinton, Paul Harber and wife Ruby of Crossville, Aaron Harber and wife Barbara of Clinton, Roy Lee Harber and wife Shirley of Claxton; sister, Beth Harber Foust and husband Aaron of Clinton; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family received friends 1-2 pm Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral services following the visitation at 2 pm in the chapel with Dr. Paul Frick officiating.
Interment followed the service at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
